I stand and stare – a mirror split,
Two versions shaped by shadowed grit.
The left is quiet, pale and bare,
No mask, no tears – just empty air.

The right still drips in black regret,
A weeping face I won’t forget.
He wore the smile they had to see,
But never once it mirrored me.

Behind me stand two angels still:
One carved of light, one bent by will.
But neither speaks – they only stay,
As I unmask and drift away.

I’m tired of being what they need.
So here I stand…
and finally
bleed.
