Blogpost for Miss and Mister Elegance 2025 Show First Challenge: Día de los Muertos

As a judge for this year’s Miss and Mister Elegance 2025 Show, I embraced the Día de los Muertos challenge, channeling the vibrant celebration of life and death into my look. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a deeply significant holiday in Mexican culture, celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, where families honor the spirits of their deceased loved ones with joy, color, and art.

The Challenge:
Participants were invited to interpret Día de los Muertos in a way that captures its spirit, from colorful skeleton suits and dresses to traditional face paints and floral details. While most might think of death as a somber theme, Día de los Muertos reminds us of the beauty and vibrancy in honoring the lives of those we love, even beyond this world.

My Ensemble:
Inspired by the theme, I dressed as a skeleton figure, blending the elegance of the celebration with the aesthetic of Gothcore. My avatar, standing in a cemetery with glowing "RIP" signs, embodies the lively and joyful spirit of the holiday, reminding us of the fine line between life and death, surrounded by marigolds—a traditional symbol of remembrance.
